Woodland Camping FAQ’s

Can I have a campfire?

Yes.  We love a campfire!  Every camping pod and pitch has a space for a campfire.  Campfires are permitted in designated fire pits within your pitch. Firewood is not included, but you can purchase fire logs for £6 per net when you book or via our honesty shop.

What is the latest arrival time?

You can arrive any time after 2pm.  We don’t put a “latest time” restriction.  We just ask that if you are arriving late then you are mindful of other guests.  Also depending on the time of year the site might be rather dark.  Keep a torch handy.

What size are the Woodland Camping pitches?

Our woodland camping pitches are a generous 8 meters long by 5 meters wide, providing ample space for your tent and outdoor furniture.

How big are the field pitches?

Huge, bring your Eden Project! We’ve walked each of our four field pitches with a measuring wheel, and they come in at approximately 14 metres wide by 40 metres deep.

What are the toilets and showers like?

We’re really proud of our clean and well-kept toilet and shower facilities.  We have flushing toilets (rather than the compost variety).  There is a block in the area between the wildlife pond and the field camping pitches and other in the woodland camping spot, each with a single toilet and a shower room with a toilet. The shower room is large enough for parents to share the space with kids.  There’s always plenty of hot water and good water pressure, and we check the blocks regularly to keep everything fresh. They’re shared between guests but not crowded, and most people comment on how spotless they are.

What about site safety?

For your safety, please remember:

  • Our campsite borders a working farm.
  • A public footpath runs alongside the farmyard, so please stay on the path.
  • Tractors have the right of way and may have limited visibility.
  • Avoid climbing on hay or straw bales.

We had a really nice relaxing stay! The set up in the woodlands was beautiful and nicely spaced with a fire pit and a picnic table. Toilets were decent sized and washing facilities. Large fridge and freezer which was great especially in this heat! Sat watching the RAF planes fly over our heads which is not too far also from the site. Was very clean and one of the best sites we have stayed at. We will definitely be returning!

Great little campsite. Stayed in the field camping for a weekend. Very spacious pitch with fire pit and picnic bench. Resident cows just over the fence, a few persistent flies, to be expected given location - not a complaint, purely for info. Ordered some logs from the honesty shop, which was very straightforward. Welcomed on site by the lovely hosts. Clean toilets and clean, hot shower. Didn’t need to use the fridge/freezer but good to have if you need. Very peaceful and so much nature on hand to explore. A few local attractions within a short drive. Would stay again.

My first solo camping trip and I couldn't think of a better location. The whole site is very clean and well kept. The facilities on offer were perfect and the owner who stopped by to clean was so lovely. The site would also be perfect for couples and families, the pitch was huge and there's plenty of space to relax. Thank you so much, I can't wait to come back!

I stayed in a basic pod with my dog. Comfortable bed. Water tap outside. Toilet and shower about a minute away. Plenty of bins for rubbish. Fire pit outside pod. So quiet. Beautiful surroundings and nice walks. Eyed up the camping area. Looks great. I can imagine camping with my family. Children will love the wooded area. WiFi good. Saw rabbits, squirrels and deer. Lots of birds. If you want a quiet relaxing break then I would recommend this place. Lovely host. Perfect

Absolutely loved this place the pod we had was a good size for the two of us and our 2 fur babies. They were fairly soundproof as well can’t say I heard any noise at night. The equipment supplied was good and makes a change to actually have good sharp knives supplied. The WiFi was a bonus and excellent. Absolutely loved the firepit although couldn’t cook over it as our grill thing was bent but that didn’t bother us much we were just happy toasting marshmallows. The setting is within a wooded area with a pond in front of our pod, the wood was brilliant to walk the dogs in. There is a brilliant woodland music garden in the woods which even as adults we had great fun playing with and felt compelled to play every time we walked past. The only negative was our little fridge a behind our pod wasn’t cold when we arrived and being a hot day we were concerned about our fresh food however there is a communal fridge (and freezer if needed) which we used until our little fridge had cooled there is little signs you can put your name on and put with your stuff so no worries about leaving anything in there. All in all we had a great peaceful time and would love to go back one day.
