Field Camping FAQ’s

Can I have a BBQ?

Yes.  Each glamping pod and camping pitch has a firepit for a campfire.  But you are welcome to bring your own BBQ.  Please keep the BBQ either over the firepit or off the ground to prevent scorching.

How many tents can I have on one pitch?

Each pitch is for one tent only.  If you’re camping with friends or family in separate tents, you’ll need to book one pitch per unit. This keeps the site peaceful and ensures everyone has enough space.  We will always do our best that your pitches are next to one another.

How far do I have to walk to the toilet?

We like to think that the loos are close enough but far enough.

If you’re camping in the woodland, the loos are 30 to 60 metres away depending on your pitch. Our Glamping Pods around the wildlife pond are 40 to 60 metres from the block. If you’re camping in the field, it’s about 100 metres.

Can I park my car next to my field view camping pitch?

Yes.  You can park your car at your pitch when you book a field view camping pitch.

Can I park my car next to my woodland camping pitch?

No.  The woodland camping pitches are about 80 metres away from the carpark.  We have a fleet of wheelbarrows to help you move your kit.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Your camping pitch or glamping pod will be available for check-in from 2 pm on the day of your arrival and must be vacated by 10.30 am on your departure day.

How do I keep my food cold when camping?

We have a full sized fridge and freezer on site available for shared use.  You can re-freeze your cool blocks or chill/freeze your food.  All of the camping pitches have electric hook up, so you are able to bring your camping fridge or cool box.

Can I choose which pitch I’m on?

Not usually, we allocate pitches based on availability nearer the time. But we’ll always do our best to keep groups together and take your preferences into account where we can.

How much does Field Camping cost?

Field camping costs £30 per night for four people, plus £3.50 per night for each additional person over the age of 2.

What are the toilets and showers like?

We’re really proud of our clean and well-kept toilet and shower facilities.  We have flushing toilets (rather than the compost variety).  There is a block in the area between the wildlife pond and the field camping pitches and other in the woodland camping spot, each with a single toilet and a shower room with a toilet. The shower room is large enough for parents to share the space with kids.  There’s always plenty of hot water and good water pressure, and we check the blocks regularly to keep everything fresh. They’re shared between guests but not crowded, and most people comment on how spotless they are.
