EXCELLENT Based on 81 reviews Tammy Bissell2025-08-12Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. What a beautiful place, in the middle of nowhere. Cabin in the woods was so peaceful and the added extras of a real bed, WiFi and even the boxes full of everything you need. There is even a box for kids. A real toilet and shower and a real adventure when it goes dark can go explore in the dark woods haha. It is around 20 mins to the nearest shop but perfect for a nice relaxing break away from the world. Becca Doughty2025-08-11Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Absolutely loved this camp site, it really is a little hidden gem. Completely tranquil and well maintained. The pitches on the meadow / field view are huge so lots of space for children to play, the added touches of the picnic benches and fire pit on the pitch are really welcomed and we absolutely loved having a campfire in the evening with the logs we purchased that were waiting for us at the pitch. The facilities are extremely clean and well maintained, however it is worth noting there is only 2 toilets for the field pitches which seemed to be shared with the cabins & accessible from the woodland pitches too, one of which houses the shower. Meaning if someone is in the shower there is only one loo, this caught us out a few times and I had to take my kids in the bush - not ideal! There is another block for the woodland pitches but it felt intrusive walking through there to use those. The addition of a large fridge & large freezer was brilliant so no need to worry with cool boxes etc. there was also some lovely bug hunting white boards for children to use which my two liked. We loved exploring the woodlands, blackberry picking and watching the animals. It is a very remote site so making your own fun is essential. Also , bring a torch, it is pitch black walking to the toilets at night which is a bit spooky at first! The guide book is a lovely touch and really makes staying a breeze & made us feel so welcome, all info is provided. Parking wasn't an issue but there is only a small car park and the spaces did run out on our second day so a couple of people had to park on their field pitches which wouldn't be possible for woodland pitches, this may be worth noting - I wouldn't bring multiple vehicles. Would highly recommend and if it wasn't such a trek for us we would return! Terry Jefferson2025-08-02Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Camp fires. Friendly staff (not that we needed much) always attentive. WiFi in the woods. Not far from pitch to facilities. From the moment we booked this camping trip, we knew it was going to be amazing by the pictures and the service we received whilst making the booking. The campsite is beautiful, we chose the woodland camping which I completely advise! All of our logs where delivered to the pitch prior to us arriving. The whole place is picturesque. The toilets and showers where spotless and the cleaning station was great for all your pots and pans. As a family of 3 kids, we just wanted a lovely place to relax whilst the kids enjoyed the outdoors and thats exactly what we got. Thanks again for a brilliant camping trip! We had the loveliest time camping on a woodland pitch - it was spacious and serene. The site itself was beautiful and full of nature and areas to explore. Dotted around were some scavenger hunt illustrations, which we loved, as well as den building. Walks around the woods and to visit the cows in the meadow were another favourite. We also saw an array of wildlife, from a barn owl hunting to a deer skipping in the field. For things to do nearby I recommend Castle Bolingbroke, the North Sea Observatory and the Aviation Heritage Centre. We cant wait to visit again!
